Transformer movement, Saturday 20 July from National Grid Sundon Substation

NG Sundon Transformer Movement Letter 20 July

A notice letter from National Grid says that they will be moving a supergrid transformer from the Sundon substation on the morning of Saturday 20 July.

National Grid has sent the above letter to nearby residents in Chalton and Fancott.

Dear Resident

Transformer movement, Saturday 20 July

We are writing to let you know that a supergrid transformer movement from our Sundon substation will be taking place on the morning of Saturday 20 July.

The transformer will be moved by a specialist vehicle that will leave along Luton Road to the M1 motorway junction 12 and will include a police escort.
While we don’t anticipate the movement will cause any disruption, we would kindly request that residents use their driveways and avoid parking on the street or pavement along Water End Lane and its junction with Luton Road. To ready to the transformer for moving, work within the substation site will take place from
Monday 15 July. If you have any queries, please contact us at nationalgrid@NGSundon.co.uk or by calling 0800 915 2487 and leaving a message.
Thank you for your continued patience as we carry out our essential work.

Yours faithfully

Anita Gray
