Don’t Lose Your Voice – Check Your Voter Registration Details

News-Central-@-email-alerts-Voter-Registration Reminder 07.2025

CBC is asking all residents to make sure their electoral registration details are up to date. This is part of the annual canvass, which ensures the electoral register is accurate and complete.

Why it matters:

  • Being on the electoral register means you can vote in elections.
  • If your details are not up to date, you may miss your chance to have your say.

What to expect:

  • If you’ve provided an email address, you’ll receive an email from: cbcelectoralregistration@notifications.service.gov.uk
Please respond promptly to confirm your details and help reduce postal costs.
  • If you haven’t provided an email, you’ll receive a letter in early August addressed to your household. Follow the instructions carefully.

Important notes:

  • Only one person per household needs to respond.
  • If you’ve recently moved, you’re more likely to need to update your details.
  • Paying council tax does not automatically register you to vote.

How to register:

If you’re not currently registered, your name won’t appear in the messages we send. You can register online at: www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

Data matching:

We’ve matched our records with the Department for Work and Pensions and Council Tax data. Over 80% of households matched successfully. Those that matched and have an email on file will be contacted by email first.
