Extract from CBC website – ‘As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we’re launching the latest stage of our project to improve local cycling and walking routes and we would like to hear your thoughts to help shape a Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan for Ampthill and Flitwick.
At the end of July we held an engagement event at Flitwick Library. It was a great opportunity to meet with local residents and speak about the plans in more detail.
On Saturday 20 August, officers will be at Ampthill Library between 10am and 2pm to talk to local residents and businesses.
We have a dedicated online platform where you can give your feedback on proposed routes and provide ideas for where improvements or additional routes are needed. The proposed routes form a network that avoids busy roads and meandering detours and connects the two town centres. The routes also link to surrounding villages and local amenities such as Ampthill Park, schools, shops, leisure facilities, employment areas, and Flitwick railway station.
The online platform will be open for people to have their say until 5 September 2022. The information from the platform will help develop a package of improvement schemes that will form a comprehensive cycling and walking network. Residents will have a further opportunity to comment on this Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan.
A similar public engagement process will be rolled out for cycling and walking route improvements in Arlesey, Stotfold and Fairfield, Biggleswade, Dunstable and Houghton Regis, Leighton Linslade and Sandy.
